My interest in art and design stems from my childhood, growing up in an artistic family in Yorkshire. I studied History of Art and Architecture as part of my History degree in London and my first job after graduation was at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. As a children’s book editor and writer in London for over twenty years, I have worked with many brilliant illustrators, while keeping a hand in myself, taking courses at the Charles H. Cecil Institute in Florence, the British Institute of Florence, the St. Ives School of Painting in Cornwall, Heatherleys School of Fine Art, Central St. Martins and the City Lit in London.
A vibrant and cultured city such as London, provides wonderful opportunities, but in quiet moments, I find myself drifting into reveries of simpler times, of country villages, front doors dripping with old-fashioned roses and gardens thick with hollyhocks, or windows glowing with warmth when an icy wind is howling outside. Sometimes my mind wanders to the cafés of Rome or the romantic turrets of a French château. Unable to click my fingers and transport myself there instantly, I turn my daydreams into art to send to my friends, wondering whether they too share my dreams of escape.
If you would like to send my paintings to your friends, they are all available to buy as greeting cards and prints. To commission original art, please get in touch at info@turtledovegallery.com

SAVE THE TURTLE DOVES
Turtle doves have long been a symbol of love, friendship, peace, harmony and freedom. Sadly, these pretty birds, with their soft, purring call, are declining in numbers. Donations from all sales are made to charity to help conserve these iconic birds.
